We are a locally owned company,based out of Kapolei and serving West and Central Oahu. We are dedicated tohigh quality, individualized service and supportive relationship with parentsgeared towards optimal care for the keiki we serve. In a comfortable andsupportive atmosphere, we offer a highly personalized approach tailored to eachof our participants individual needs to help attain the personal growth theyare striving for. About Us

Ohana Mua Behavioral Therapy is committed to high quality treatment, adheres to the BACB guidelines of ethical conduct, and strives to achieve integration of clients into all aspects of the family’s life. We offer therapy and testing services for young children with developmental delays, Autism, Anxiety, Learning disabilities, attention and behavioral issues. Our therapy program curriculum is based on evidence-based assessment tools, incorporates teaching techniques based on recent empirical findings from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is inclusive of a variety of methods and approaches in intervention and program planning, and is reflective of the individual’s areas of need. We insure that the learner’s progress occurs through the arrangement of teaching environments which are mostly positive and ultimately stimulate the development of critical cognitive skills. We rely on the use of scientifically rigorous tools to collaborate with families in developing a plan to nurture a child’s growth and success.

Our Services

We are committed to excellence and high standards of clinical care of the participants we serve. Our treatment program is implemented at the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, or school) and designed to advance according to the developmental progress of each child, such that simpler skills are taught first and more complex ones will follow only when the child has grasped the core skills and knowledge. Since each skill is used to build the next skill, this ensures that maintenance of previously acquired skills continues throughout the child’s program. Individualized behaviors reduction plans and skill-building lessons are designed to meet the following criteria:

  • Child-centered, strengths-specific, family-focused, community-based, and culturally-competent
  • Clearly define specific target problem behaviors and replacement skills
  • Use of objective measures to record baseline levels
  • Establish quantifiable criteria for progress
  • Describe intervention techniques appropriate to the target skill, reinforcers selected, and strategies for generalization and maintenance of learned skills
  • Document the plan for transition through the continuum of interventions, services, and settings, as well as fade-out criteria
